These are pictures from our walk into Richmond yesterday afternoon. We plan to properly explore today.
First, it was still farmland with horses:
But that quickly gave way to city centre stone buildings. We saw a solar eclipse marker from the 1920s:
Also some stone dogs with bandanas:
People were playing cricket! How very English!
A view of the town centre as we walked out in search of dinner. Sumana went for Thai food, but Moss and I had a romantic French dinner.
Here’s Moss a bit sunburnt and quite tired, but happy to be in a nice restaurant with something other than standard pub fare. The pub food has been very good, but we were excited for variety. The couple at the table next to us even bought us a round of sparkling wine when they found out we were on honeymoon!
Today we plan to see the castle and the Georgian Theatre. Very exciting!
