Shap Abbey

On Wednesday we left Bampton Grange for Orton, but we only got as far as Shap before I decided to call it a day. My ankle was not very happy. Still, we got to spend some quality time in the ruins of Shap Abbey!

For days we had not seen useful signs like these, so we were very happy to find them again.

Chickens from the neighboring farm roamed the Abbey grounds.

A view of the ruins. The tower is from the 1500s, but the rest has been around longer.

We also recorded episode two of our podcast here, but that’s not up yet…
