Rest Day in Grasmere

We had the first of our three scheduled rest days today.
 
 We started by getting gingerbread!

 Then we visited Dove Cottage, where William Wordsworth lived from 1799 to 1808. Here’s a picture from the top of the back garden:

 Then we had lunch at Baldry’s tea room, where there were also several dogs. You can just take dogs anywhere here. It’s pretty adorable.-

 Here I am at dusk outside the gingerbread shop and the daffodil garden:

 The daffodil garden raises money to support the church where the Wordsworth family is buried. Here are some of their graves:

 On the way home we spotted this beautiful flowered drive:

 At the hostel, we watched the new Doctor Who with some British children. And recorded a podcast. But that’s a different blog post.
